Hey Everyone,
Well the final AMA Superbike Round at New Orleans, Louisiana was hosted last weekend to finish out the season.
It only felt like a month or so ago that we were in Daytona Beach for the opening round of the 2012 season. With 22 races, 11 rounds, thousands of miles traveled, thousands of miles raced, lots of frustration, the good times, the good races, the problems, the bad races and the eventful happenings between races that make racing worth going through all of the above.
I had big hopes for the final round of this season, as i had pinned this to be a track that i was going to come through and shine. Unfortunately (im getting sick on always saying this sentence), we had our fare share of technical and mechanical issues throughout the weekend all stemming from a faulty chain which caused alot of dramas from breaking sprockets to cracking the crankcase on my engine to further oil leaks, gear levers falling off and more chain dramas.
So without dwelling on too many more negatives! Race One- i had to retire from due to chain issues. Once we finally fixed this problem for Race two, i settled in and finished up coming Tenth after a lonely ride!
I am glad that i finally reached a top Ten result this season. However the latter part of the year has been quite draining to my motivation, having a lot of issues throughout the year and frustrations.
I will be making a season wrap up video soon on my website where i will go through a few things and my direction forward from here in terms of my Racing future.
I would like to thank Tim Hunt, my mechanic for most of the year for never giving up on me and always having my best interests at heart and trying his ass off. He came into out team this year and was thrown in the deep end and i think we both learned alot through it. I would also like to thank my old chief mechanic, Shaun Higginbottom whom started out with me this season after a full season working together last year and even though events led to him spannering for our young 600 rider, he still tried to help me out as much as he could with data and set up. Another personal thanks to mechanics Jeff Zeliadt and Jamison Woodworth and truck driver Pepper for helping out. It’s a tough gig working for that team at times and yet other times it can be really rewarding in one way or another.
From here i will be reassessing my racing and trying to find a ride for the 2013 season whether it be in SBK or DSB or back in Australia. Im looking for more sponsors to help me out before this sport swallows me for good and i end up back behind a desk!
Anyways, thankyou to everyone for your support, especially my family and my Sponsors and supporters. you guys are the best.

Hey Everyone!
Here’s a little wrap up of the last round down at Miami-Homestead Speedway… I got down to lovely Florida on the Tuesday before the race weekend and stayed with my mechanic Tim and fiance’ Leigh’s house, and had a few ‘relaxing’ days before the race hanging out with our infamous driver, Pepper which is always memorable! The weather was super stormy for the days leading up to the round, which made us think it was going to be a rainy round. This would make for some tense times for some riders negating a new track in the wet!
Anyways practice and qual all went fine. 13th in the first qualifying in the dry session and a solid 9th in the final qualifying in the wet. I got held up on both flying laps so I would imagine that if I didn’t I would of been higher up in qualifying, which would of been cool!
Aaaanyways, Race 1 came about and I made an out of character sluggish start off the line, which saw me back at 17th at the second corner! I fought back and recovered to 13th however I guess I felt like I cheated myself out of a top 10 finish that race.
For Race 2 I was determined to have a good race, my mind was in the right place for a solid race and to get a super solid result. However, the heavens above opened up right before our race with a massive storm, which I was actually excited about as I knew if it stayed wet I could run with the top guys and get an impressive result. The skies were shifting from storm, to sun, to misty rain, back to indecisive clouds! So I started the race anticipating the wet weather hanging around for the entire race, and with the 3 minute board showing face – I look up and see blue sky and disappearing clouds… damn!!
The first three laps of the race were brilliant, straight up into the front pack, however I knew it was going to be short lived as the race line was drying – and FAST! I lasted 6 laps on greasy, slippery wets before coming in and changing tires. Due to a miscommunication between myself and the team, there was a delay getting a dry weather front on the bike so I made the decision to go out with a intermediate rear and wet front. After only 1 full lap on this set up, I decided it was too dangerous to run and opted to retire from the race, much to my disappointment.
So a rough end to what was looking like it was going to be my weekend to shine.
I did an interview with AMA Pro Racing which should be online quite soon, so i will repost this to my page when I see it!
Anyway, here’s a random shot from the week just gone!

Hey guys, i’ve finally got some time to sit down and update my page… geez.. from what was supposed to be a pretty slow lead up to Laguna after Mid-Ohio, it turned into a fast paced, roller coaster of fun, hard times, sad times, travel, travel, travel and, well not much time in the gym or on a bike of any type..
So lets start at Laguna. I really love that place – such a buzz and an aura of excitement fills the mountain side which is the racetrack and race paddock. I was fortunate to have some of my family over for the weekend which was really great. I love having them around. My brother, Ben, made the trip from Indonesia where he lives to come and watch me race for the first time ever which was great and he loved it. We had our fare share of issues once again, as we were short staffed and i didnt have my regular mechanic, Tim Hunt with me which was a kick in the pants. I blew an engine in the first session after only a few laps due to the team not allocating time to change out my engine as they were busy building other engines that had blown and that affected me a little and was pretty infuriated by the whole ordeal. But i kept calm and carried on, the next session which was Q1 we laid down some good laps however i struggled to get up to pace, which was the case last year there also. Its a very technical track, one of those tracks that people will tell you the old saying ‘you really got to be patient and wait till the last minute to tip into the corners’ and its the honest truth! If you dont have good rhythm and flow for this track, it will cost you seconds. The Corkscrew isn’t really a problem for me (it’s really a lot of fun!). Anyways, in the Race i managed to get back up to 14th place from 17th which was ok… not where i wanted to be but i have to accept that the other guys have been there alot more times than i have and have the teams behind them to bring them the results also. Thats aside, i had a great time, the bike felt good in the race, however my wrist fatigued in the race which wasn’t cool. I met a great bunch of people up there and had a rad time at the afterparty!
So here’s where the emotional side of things kicks in. Just a few days before Laguna came around, i recieved news that my sick Grandpa, Stephen Forgacs had passed away at his house, next door to my house, in Newcastle (AUS). He had been battling with Cancer for 2 or so years and it finally got the better of him. My Pop was a real inspiration for me, Fleeing from Hungary during the Hungarian Revolution in 1956 with my Nana, pregnant at the time and starting a whole new life with only the shirt on his back, working hard every day of his life, starting as a machinist and fitter, buying a workshop and building his business and expanding into Ship building, Ship repair and Engineering and employing over 400 full time employees. He always had time for us and loved his family. He will be sorely missed.
I went home for the funeral straight after Laguna Seca and was back 2 days later to California which was very draining. My friend Byron and I had planned some time in Cabo which we still got to do and it was amazing. Just what i needed. Relaxing by the beach and the pool, partying, swimming and having not a care in the world.
I came ‘back to reality’ but things weren’t all rosey as me and my long term partner Ash decided to part ways which is really tough for me. So more emotional anguish to deal with.
Anways, moving right along – New Jersey is upon us in a few weeks and i am back into my full training regime which is great, but really tough at the same time!! I have been battling some illness for a few weeks but i think the worst is behind me now so i can get on with the job and focus at the task at hand. I will have my mechanic back for NJ. I like the NJ circuit as its flowing and flat! still alot of fun and a challenge to ride so im looking forward to that.
Thats all I got for now. Peace out and God Bless.

Hey everyone, sorry i haven’t updated in a few weeks since Barber in Alabama, i have been quite busy over the last two weeks, with travel, testing, training, more training, more travel and now finally another round of racing here at Mid-Ohio out of the way!
So anyways, lets start at the top, post- Barber AMA weekend shall we..
We traveled down to New Orleans straight after the AMA race at Leeds, AL for another HOT 2 days of testing in the humid heat of Louisiana at the newly constructed track down there. The track is flat as a tack and quite flowwy and fast as i thought it would be. I really enjoyed the challenge of the track (not so much the exhausting heat!) and managed to get up to speed, finishing the Two days of Official AMA testing out with solid top 10 positions which i was really happy with. The track is really ‘green’, so we chewed up alot of front tires during that time but had a blast doing it!
After the NOLA test i headed home to Oceanside and got immediately back into my training and trained very hard for the next few days with up to 4 or 5 hours in the gym each day. I Went surfing that weekend and got SO cold in the freezing Californian Pacific ocean that it managed to set off a cold i’d been battling for a while which knocked me around for a few days and basically confined me to home for 2 days, smashing back the vitamins to get better and keep on top of my fitness for the upcoming round in Lexington, Ohio at the Mid Ohio Sports Car course.
During my time at home i did manage to write a full page article for the Australian Motorcycle News (AMCN) back home in australia which i complemented with a video which can be downloaded on itunes via the link in the latest edition of the magazine which is set to come out this week in Australia – so grab a copy!!. I am basically talking about my year thus far and about my experiences at some of the tracks and off the tracks along with the video being on Daytona speedway, whilst showing off some of the sights in my hometown over here!
Now, on to the AMA round at Mid-Ohio.. Well it all started out really good, progressing well – qualified 15th and gaining momentum throughout qualifying. I made the choice to stick with my gearing which was the same as last year – i think this was a mistake in hindsight. I did try another gearing but i did not like it. Anyways, race one started off with a great start off the line -with a flickering start light which caused a red flag- but before the red flag came out i managed to get myself stuck in a bad situation by missing some gears into a corner off the fast straight and plowed straight off the track and crashed in a pretty spectacular form (U.S. viewers can watch the crash on the highlights of the Race here… http://www.speedtv.com//video/moto-racing/ama-sbk-mid-ohio-1-2012-1735649590001/1#_vtop )
The bike got dropped back at the pits and in the 10 minutes between the re-start of races, the team managed to get the bike stripped and repaired and have me back in for the race – all repairs were done in under 8 minutes which was a fantastic team effort by everyone at ADR! after all of that, i managed to come 12th.
Race two came around and i was keen as ever to hang with the front guys; only to get unstuck by a broken seat on lap 2! just my freekin luck. anyways i nursed the big girl home to another 12th place. i was a little upset by this, as we had good grip and i was feeling fresh, even though i was a little sore still from my crash the day before. Anyways Thats the way it goes sometimes. I’m up to 14th in the point standings so i’ll just keep chipping away.
Silly season is officially starting so i am looking for sponsors once again to help me out for 2013.
My girlfriend Ashlea is over from the Homeland at the moment and it’s been awesome having her around once again. I hadn’t seen her in over 3 months, so as you can imagine its been ‘testing’ and tough on us both so its great to finally feel like i have a normal relationship again. Things can get lonely from time to time and having someone close to you nearby can really ease part of your mind and psyche. I can only imagine what some servicemen and women must go through when there partners are away from there loved ones.
Anyways, im really pumped for the next round coming up in 10 or so days at LAGUNA SECA for the MotoGP!! I have my Dad and my mate Byron coming across from Australia along with my Brother Ben who lives in Indonesia. It will be great to have more people come and support me. My brother has only seen me race once before in one of my very first races so it will be exciting to get him to the track again at such a cool event like the Laguna round.
Anyways here’s a few pics from the weekend!

Hey guys, I am sitting here at Birmingham Airport, AL with some time on my hands before i head to New Orleans for the 2 Day AMA Official Test so i have taken the opportunity to reflect on the latest round of the AMA Superbike weekend down here at the Barber Motorsports park in Leeds, AL. The weekend started, and finished HOT and HUMID- the weather down here this time of year is not really perfect for racing motorcycles on the limit for 3 days, but hey, it was still awesome.
Friday practice and Qualifying went considerably well and finished up 15th and peeled off some time throughout qualifying ready for the race. We didnt have to change the bike much at all for this round, which was really comforting and tells us we are getting the thing sorted. The bike, in particular, the Ohlins front end is very sensitive to any type of change (and so is the rider!) so it was great to have something that worked straight from the last round at Road America. The heat made things really difficult in saturdays race in the afternoon, it was around 98 degrees, along with the humidity and the heat coming off the asphalt and no wind made things stifling to ride in and struggled with the heat with about 6 laps to go, feeling a little dizzy at times and wanting to throw up a little, ew! I finished that race in 12th which was ok however i really wanted to get that top 10 finish but i didnt have it in me.
After sundays warm up which went well, we made a ‘tiny’ change to the front end to give it some more spport coming into the hard braking corners. This changed worked for the hard raking corners, however it upset things elsewhere on the track and took alot of time to adjust to in the race, so things started out slow and found myself at the back of the pack, frustrated, feeling fresh and wanting to charge and settle in with the front guys. Coming into the left hand hair pin, i came over the crest of the hill ready to attack the corner and make some ground up on the guys in front of me, which would of worked fine, if i wasnt sliding towards all three of them and looking to collect everyone of them on my way into the corner! i had to pull out of my rear wheel slide, stand the bike up and run off the track to avoid a Ten pin bowling moment, which wouldn’t of been too good for anyone. Rubbings racing, that’s one thing but barreling into a corner, semi out of control only to clean someone else up is another thing. So i ran off, through the gravel trap, around the grassy section and back onto the track to find myself in last place, by a LONG way.
I put my head down and managed to make up a few spots and finished off the race in 14th, which personally i was disappointed. However, it has made me really hungry to get to Ohio now in less than a fortnights’ time and go hard there.
This week, as i noted, we are doing a 2 day test with AMA down at the newly built NOLA motorsports park in New Orleans. Track layouts i’ve seen suggest it’s going to be a fast track.
Anyways, Enjoy these images from Barber!

Hey Guys, So Road America turned out to be a good event for us, as we learnt a little more about the bike and got some decent results, finishing with a 12th and a 14th in the final race. I wanted to go a little faster than i did, however i had trouble throwing the bike into corners so thats something to work on leading into the next round at Barber Motorsports Park, AL next week.
After the Race, i spent some down time with some of the team, Pepper our driver and his parnter Jody and Dave at a lake in Kentucky which was great. After this i went out to Barber to help our young rider Matt Schrag from the sidelines of the track and get him up to speed before his maiden race there at the AMA round. It was good getting to watch him test at the ride day; he’s very smooth and consistent which will help him get up to speed at the races when he follows the more experienced guys around there.
Anyways guys, here are some pics from road america and a few from Miller… Enjoy!

So after a bit of confusion and frustration throughout practice and qualifying in terms of bike feel and set up – im happy to say we finally found the issue and tried to fix it through the Race 1 today and alas, i think we have found something to improve on. The weather for the race was crazy! raining on/off/on/off and after a delayed start we got underway and settled in behind Chris Ulrich in a battle with Trent Gibson and settled for 12 in the end, when the race finally came to a hault with a red flag under DANGEROUS conditions… definately not a track you want to up against on slicks in the greasy stuff and rain… loads of fast, 180+mph, 5th and 6th gear straights with concrete walls not too far from you and heavy braking corners and countour changes! fun nevertheless.
Anyways, going to work hard in paractice tomorrow to find a good feel for the race 2. looking forward to it. It’s been good to get 2 12th places back to back with my parents watching!
