Today the official AMA 2012 Road racing calendar was released with all the round confirmed to make a total of 11 rounds, including a few new ones, being Homestead-Miami, New Orleans Motorsports Park and also Road Atlanta – which isnt a new one so to speak, but it’ll be new to me as i’ve never been there before. I am in the middle of trying to get everything sorted for 2012 in terms of teams and arrangements, however what i can say is that i will be racing the Suzuki GSXR 1000′s again. I am currently looking for a major sponsor to fund my efforts for 2012 and looking for around $50,000. There is a great opportunity here for a company or organisation to get behind an athlete at the top level and in return get great exposure with a great ROI package that we can put together to make the investment really worthwhile. For 2012, we have a great bike package and engine package lined up thanks to Suzuki and it should be really exciting to see what we can achieve. That aside, for the current moment, I am back working in Australia with my family business and chipping away. I am also training 4 to 5 times a week.
I was actually lucky enough to get some track time in at Eastern Creek (Sydney) on saturday, doing some mentoring, coaching and helping with a set up on a stocvk Yamaha R6 which i enjoyed. It was the first time back on a bike in over 3 months so i was a little rusty to start with! All good fun though and didnt take me long to get back to speed. Hopefully i get more of a chance to jump on bikes before i head back to the states in Febuary!
